Native New Yorker and retired trilingual (English, Spanish, Greek) educator, newspaper journalist, and radio talk show host, Andrea Peponakis' life-long passion for written and spoken communication in a variety of languages has now escalated into writing children's books. This best-selling author has been inspired to write the "Grandma, Grandma, Tell Me More!" book collection by the daily experiences she shares with her now 2-and-a-half-year-old grandson, Salvatore Thomas, who is the co-author. He is the inspiration for the theme of all three books which is "Generational love is eternal." His actions influenced the storylines. His preference for final graphics was respected. His vocabulary was a part of the source for the text. The "Double G (Grandma and Grandson) Authors' Team" proudly worked together on these children's books to show how special moments become huge memories. And isn't that what we all want for our children and grandchildren?
Andrea Peponakis-Matzner is a world traveler, who appreciates all cultures and respects all people and animals. Her Greek-American roots give rise to her strong family bonds. She was born in Astoria, Queens, NY and currently resides on Long Island close to her children and grandchildren.
